Through our Solutions Fund, IDEAS For Us funded the solar electrification of an entire village in the Democratic Republic of Congo
Hygiene and Sanitation Programs (WASH Programs)
Through our branches worldwide, we can reach places where there is a lack of understanding of the relationship between sanitation and health. Through workshops, education, and health care services, we can turn community health around.
Solving Food Insecurity Issues and Ending Hunger
Through our programs, IDEAS Branches, and Solutions Fund Grantees, IDEAS For Us is determined to end hunger in communities, schools, and campuses all over the world. Pictured here is a garden installed by our Fleet Farming program in the Parramore Neighborhood of Central Florida.
Rural Tech Education
Through Solutions Fund grantees, tech education can be brought to some of the most remote developing areas on the planet. This kind of education completely transforms the potential of people, especially women and children.
Clean Water Filter Installations
In order to stop waterborne illnesses in vulnerable communities, installing clean water filters in schools and community centers helps bring fresh, clean drinking water to everyone - improving personal lives and public health.
Wetland Restoration Projects
In order to combat the damage of runoff to biodiversity and the environment, we organize groups of volunteers to install artificial wetlands in urban environments
Campus and Community Cleanups
IDEAS For Us inspires campuses all over the world to unite in action to conduct campus clean-ups in their communities
Women Vocational Training In Developing Areas
Through the Solutions Fund, IDEAS For Us commits to funding programs which empower women with vocational training coupled with support services like domestic abuse relief and access to local markets.
Refugee Relief Services
Through the Solutions Fund, IDEAS For Us funds sustainable relief services to vulnerable refugee camps in places around the world. Pictured here is the installation of a latrine for an underserved refugee camp in Somalia.
Planting Food and Native Wildlife Gardens
Depicted here is an action project executed by our Hive Orlando Program, where volunteers came together to create a vegetable garden for a shelter for the chronically homeless. Projects like this include planting fruit forests, remediating food deserts, increasing biodiversity through native plantings, and training the next generation of farmers.
Bringing Communities Together
Through our Hive Program, a human-centered design think/do tank, communities can come together to learn, ideate, and take action to solve local challenges using the SDGs as a guide.
Scaling Urban Agricultural Programs
By scaling our Fleet Farming urban agricultural program, communities can lessen the environmental impact of large-scale farming while enjoying organically grown, local produce
Protecting Girls Rights
Around the world, girls are sometimes forced to drop out of school due to stigma and shame around mensuration or lack of feminine care products. Through the Solutions Fund, we invest in scalable enterprises which provide sanitary reusable pads and puberty education for girls so they can return and stay in school.
School Fruit Tree Planting
Schools are great places to reach children and address health and nutrition issues. In Rwanda, 150 students planted 150 fruit trees through an ecological education program to help overcome food insecurity in the community.
Human Rights Advocacy
In developing places around the world, small communities may sometimes struggle with conditions which may be stigmatized, such as health conditions. Through our Solutions Fund program, we fund advocacy and educational programs which help bring scientific information to communities so they understand the effects of certain illnesses and treat those with chronic illness with respect and inclusion.
Tree Plantings and Afforestation
Deforestation is a serious issue in many places around the world. By bringing together communities and educating them on the importance of their local forests to biodiversity and climate control, we fund reforestation efforts to regrow forests which may have been destroyed for resources or transformed for detrimental land use.
A BioBlitz is an event that focuses on finding and identifying as many species as possible in a specific area over a short period of time. At a BioBlitz, scientists, families, students, teachers, and other community members work together to get an overall count of the plants, animals, fungi, and other organisms that live in a place. This is particularly important for planning conservation programs at the hyper-local level.
IDEAS For Us has a strong foundation in environmental education in all of our programs. Over the years, we have strived to teach others how natural environments function, and particularly, how human beings can manage behavior and ecosystems to live sustainably. Our education has covered multiple disciplines such as biology, chemistry, physics, ecology, earth science, atmospheric science, mathematics, and geography.
