Advancing sustainability is paramount for 21st Century society because it is the only permanent solution to the environmental and humanitarian challenges we face. However, sustainability is not the ultimate goal. Resilienceis the ability for sustainable communities to bounce back after a disaster, whether natural (such as earthquakes, hurricanes or tornadoes) or man-made (such as political uprisings and economic depressions). All IDEAS Projects use the Three P’s (People, Planet, and Prosperity) as guiding principles to build communities that are not just sustainable but truly resilient.
IDEAS For Us does not compete with anyone. Since 2008 we have been very up-front that our position is to form mutualistic partnerships with businesses, governments, world-religions, elected officials, and fellow non-profit organizations. Conflict among change makers is deleterious to progress and we believe that everyone is better off moving forward with meaningful and mutualistic partnerships.
IDEAS For Us strives to be inclusive with all of our projects, programs, governance, and actions. We believe that everything we do must include the people we are trying to help. They are the experts on how global issues are affecting them locally. The success of IDEAS depends on our ability to listen to stakeholders and include them in solutions. Diversity is great but inclusion is how diverse audiences translate their voices into action.
Pessimism leads to nothing but apathy, hopelessness, and inaction. We will never solve our collective challenges by believing we are powerless against them. Since day one, all IDEAS messaging and publicity has been positive and optimistic. We know real solutions are possible because we live it everyday. Together we can turn ideas into real solutions that solve the environmental crisis!
