IDEAS For UCF attended Keep Seminole Beautiful’s river clean up at Central Florida’s famous Wekiva Island Saturday May 31, 2014. A group of 25 teamed up and canoed down the Wekiva River collecting trash and recyclables. Among the trash, treasures were found! The team discovered a nearly 60 year old beer bottle.
The clean up is held monthly and IDEAS plans to make this a regularly attended event.
The following day another group gathered to clean up one of Central Florida’s most beautiful gems, Little Big Econ State Forest. Afterward we enjoyed swimming across the river and rope swinging, where we found a tree stuffed with aluminum cans. Many bags were filled and it’s safe to say that both events were more than successful.
