IDEAS For Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology
“Some members and executives of I.D.E.A.S KNUST visited Kotei catholic Junior High School on the 17th October 2014 to give a talk on cholera, a widespread issue that has claimed and is still claiming lives of people in Ghana.
The motive of our visit was to educate the young ones about cholera so that when they get home, they spread the education to their household. This is one of our concern issues on waste, food and water.
Upon reaching there, we met the headmaster of which Gloria Dinkyini Marfo, the president of I.D.E.A.S KNUST, was there earlier to talk to before our visit. A little introduction was done and then we went ahead with the purpose of our visit. The students were gathered for us and we had our organizing secretary, Richard Dawuni to give the talk.
The students really participated, questions were asked and answers were provided.
We presented two buckets with taps beneath to help wash hands under running water and six bars of toilet soaps. These are to facilitate the statements we kept making –‘Wash your hands under running water and soap’.
The group later took pictures with the school and some smart students. We thanked the headmaster and departed. We thank God for this opportunity and more to come in order to spread I.D.E.A.S-KNUST. Long live KNUST, long live I.D.E.A.S”
