In December 2009, IDEAS For UCF hosted an ecosystem clean-up and invasive species removal in the Little Big Econ State Forest, a local preserve in Central Florida with more than 5,000 acres of uplands and cypress swamps along the Econlockhatchee river. Throughout the event, UCF chapter leaders removed bags of trash and debris from the natural landscape, as well as helped preserve native biodiversity by pulling invasive species such as Air Potato and Caesar Weed.
