ALCDI Uganda’s Tree Planting, Environmental and Road Safety Awareness Week 2014.

Each year, around 20 primary, secondary and higher institutions of learning across Uganda take part in ALCDI Uganda’s tree planting, environmental and road safety awareness Week. Students nation-wide have learnt how to plant and care for the seedlings they grow as well as ensuring that they are safe on the road. ALCDI Uganda’s tree planting, environmental and road safety awareness Week 2014 for schools begun on 06th and ended on 10th October, although events can be held at any time during the year.

Tree planting and environmental awareness week can mark the beginning of a long-term environmental program, engaging your students in a fun, hands on activity that can reinforce their environmental, maths, science and creative arts learning or simply contribute to creating beautiful school grounds.

Find out why nature’s so good for kids

“As one of our tree planting and environmental awareness programs in schools, all the students were very enthusiastic and thoroughly enjoyed the planting process, even though it was pouring with rain and they all got wet and muddy – they loved it. We had an abundance of parent and school helpers, which added to the community, feel of the event.” We hope that with much of your ideas and support, we could do much better.

We are proud of our partners IDEAS For Uganda a local chapter of IDEAS For US for the great work in the conservation of nature.

You can be part of the global solution to the environment by participating, volunteering or exchanging ideas and experience with us in relation to any of our programs in the conservation of the biodiversity along the protected areas and the home to the world’s only remaining population of the endangered great apes (Mountain Gorillas and the Golden Monkeys) where we operate from.
